Q-Tip to teach Music Course at NYU

You all may remember Q-Tip from "Vibrant Thing" or even the legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest. Well it looks like he will be adding to his resume. Q-Tip has joined forces with writer Ashley Kahn to teach a Hip-Hop and Jazz class at NYU this Fall.

The class will go in depth about the intersection of hip-hop and jazz, which is apart of Clive Davis's Institute of Recorded Music ( which is considered arts credits). For those who are lucky enough to take this class with the rap veteran have some pretty exciting curriculum to look forward to. NYU stated "the 7 class curriculum is

among the first in the world to explore the under appreciated connections between Jazz and Hip-Hop.....and combines with the opportunity to produce original music at the nexus of two genres."

Under Q-Tips mentorship students can expect to be involved in focused readings, production, performance, and musicianship to name a few. Q will cover artists such as Public Enemy, The Roots, Lauryn Hill and Kendrick Lamar.

Classes will begin September 8th and this may be a lecture you don't want to miss!
